Welcome to Public Assembly. This is my platform for creative collaboration. I work at the intersection of business strategy and design, helping people and organizations express their big ideas by building impactful brand experiences.
I spent over six years as the Creative Director at Virgin Orbit, the Long Beach, California-based NewSpace start-up, on a mission to democratize space access by making launch service available to everyone. I am focused on pioneering experiences for satellite customers and the greater space community across physical, digital, and virtual platforms. As Virgin Orbit is a member of a global network of companies under the Virgin brand founded by Richard Branson, a key aspect of my job is coordinating brand directives and campaign initiatives from the Virgin Group in London to create a unique design experience custom-tailored for Virgin Orbit.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Before embarking on a design-centric career, I worked at an investment bank, an economics think tank and consultancy, and a Wall Street financial training firm called Training the Street, teaching financial analysts of all levels for ten years. My focus has always been to solve important social or business problems, whether through finance or design – they are tools to achieve a more optimal outcome.
I dedicated my career to guiding and mentoring mission-driven cultural and social impact organizations through creative storytelling, project planning, and design. Over the last decade, I have led design initiatives across various companies and industries – at agencies including Mirada, The Partners, and 2x4; and as design director at in-house design departments including Shop Architects and The Broad Foundation. I have worked with mission-driven clients and collaborators, including The Bronx Museum of the Arts, The Broad Center, and NRG Station A. Outside the workplace, I am a passionate climate change activist, serving as the Chair of Marketing and Communications at Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project Los Angeles chapter.
Finally, I am a part-time lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, in the Department of Design's Human Experience Design Interactions (HXDI) program and at Otis College of Art and Design. I believe that by bringing my professional experience into the classroom, I can help students elevate their thinking and perspective to design more empathetic solutions that positively impact our society.
Here's a profile of me from AIGA Los Angeles while I was working at Virgin Orbit.
Below is a talk I gave at Aurora Solar about how we can use the power of storytelling to make an impact at work.
